SECRETS OF THE SUPER ELEMENTS

Every day we meet and relate to elements, but they are not what we think, they are elements wit
totally strange and surprising names and that also make surprising things. This elements are
really important for us and for our planet , because our planet every day goes increasing with the
things that they are about to end or they are difficult to obtain, so thats why we are struggling for
saved them, for example the first thing of what we are going to talk about is our smartphone
everyone in the planet knows what a smartphone is , those things are full of a lot of different
elements like silver, copper and more . But the ones that we are interest of know are the Lithium,
cobalt, Lanthinium, Terbium, Dysprosium, Arsenic etc and its because the smartphone has half
of the elements on the planet, is for make them more thinner, more intelligent and better for us
that make them more powerful but one stands out more than the others. A rare metal with a
magical property which name is Indium and was dicovered by the scientist for make our phones
more intelligent, powerful, thinner and capable for everything. This metal is so soft that you can
chew it , the Indium can turn into a liquid that conduct into electricity but it has another property,
the one that convert in a absolutly vital part of every smartphone, if you combine smartphones
with tin and oxygen you get indium tin oxide a transparent electrical conduction and thats how
you make the touch screen and they are revolutionary . 10 years ago Apple the company explote
the properties of the Indium to create the first touch screen phone that you can control with your
finger, and the smartphone as we know it was born.

An entire new industry was created , but it makes a problem because Indium is not that easy to
obtain. In the enviroment the Indium is frecuently engaged with another metals, most commonly
Zinc. To take out of the Zinc we need to disolved the rock in acid and then put it in a oven for
bake the acid and the mix it in a precise other chemicals for extract a tiny part of Indium. And we
know that is a problem because is a really tiny amount and if its less more is difficult to find and
it became more expensive. But Indium is not the only element that has superpowers, the other
element name Rhenium and its one of the most rare and expensive element in the planet. It can
resist to the heat and that makes more cheap the fly travels, it can’t mealt , and the Rhenium is
used for make jet engines , we obtain the Rhenium from waste product of copper mining. Chile
has most of the world’s copper so that means that it has most of the world’s Rhenium, one ton of
copper contains one gram of Rhenium and that makes it such a rare element and it makes it so
difficult of find . With the help of the Rhenium the planes burn less fuel and is better for us and
the planet, but it create another problem , we got used to cheap air for our travels and if the thing
gets cheaper more people are going to fly a lot and thats why we still born a lot of fuel. Then we
have another element name Neodymium, they are magnets make of this element that are super
strong . This magnets help for make electricity in a easy way and with not burn a lot of fuel.
The magnets of the Neodymium works easy with the wind turbines they are starting to use this
magnets for make the work easily, they can create a huge electrical current, even at slow
rotational speeds, that means that the turbine blades can drive the generator directly and the
turbine is more effective and less prone to break down. The wind turbines can create clean
electricity and it is not necessary for burn things . In the future is so probably that the turbines
are going to have a lot of pieces of Neodymium magnets . But in this case we also have a
problem , it is not always going to have wind so we need another way to stole surplus energy
from windy days.

And then we have another element named Lithium is the third element of the periodic table and
it has a lot of electrical properties and it make Lithium great for the bateries and it is super great
for energy storage. Half of the world’s Lithium is find in the salt flats of salad in Bolivia. But
the main problem is that is really hard to obtain. The other element is the Helium the one element
that make the ballons stay up, Helium has become very scarce since it is more important than we
think. The Helium has been related with the air space ships and rockets and also with this we can
see inside of our bodies with a such a good clarity and with not the need of X ray and is so
revolutionary is based on the properties of Helium, and Helium is so weird it can become really
colder and when the Helium gets really cold strange things start to happen, it becomes hot at a
point in which starts to boil even though before it was colder and become cold again just like that
, it can flow solid materials.

And like this elements we have a lot more that can make incredible things such as Tungsten and
is an element that is indistructable so thats why the soldier us the for cover their tanqs. And it is
so crazy see it.
So now that we learn everything about of this super elements im going to say that they are really
fascinating, it is great to see how each one of them is different in its own way and they help us
humans as well it helps the environment, they are elements that we often go unnoticed and that
makes us quickly fascinated wirh with them. But it is true that many times we ourselves cause
the problems that we worry so much about, these elements in a certain way have made many
things easier for us and make it simpler and much better

It is something that is appreciated. I feel that I learned a lot frome those elements. At first I didn’t
care but in the end I look at them in a different way a better way.
