Biodiversity
• T h e phrase "biodiversity"
refers to all o f the liv ing
creatures i n a n e c o sys te m .
• The relevance of biodiversity in
ecosystems is that it allows
ecosystems to maintain life and
recover from environmental
changes.

Eco sys te m
• An ecosystem consists of a specific
region as well as it s living (biotic)
and non-living (abiotic)
components.
• It is a system in which both living and
non-living components rely on one
another and continually interact with
one another.

• C h a n g e s in biodiversity co uld have
unpredictable consequences not o n ly for
wildlife a n d m a r i n e life, but also for
humans.
• We can plainly deduce that when our ecosystem is
neglected, biodiversity suffers changes that may have a
negative influence on human health on a variety of
levels.
