BIODIVERSITY
DEFINITION
 Biodiversity is the variation of life forms within a
given ecosystem, biome or on the entire Earth.

 Biodiversity found on Earth today is the result of

EVOLUTION.
TYPES OF BIODIVERSITY
1. Genetic Diversity

Genetic diversity means the diversity between genes in a

specific species. That is very braid because we are each
genetically different from each other.
Each human being is diferent in his genetic construction
because on how random our genetic code is.
Example: creates flowers of different colors and dogs of different
races.
2. Species Diversity

 Describes the number of different kinds of

organism within individual communities or
ecosystem.
For instants, in animal kingdom, we
have different kinds of species which
include mammal, reptile, and insects.
3. Ecosystem Diversity

 Ecosystem diversity refers to the variety of habitats.

The definition of a habitat is the sum of climate
vegetation and geography of a region.
 If one circumstance changes the rest will be affected.
In other words if the temperature changes, vegetation
will change as well as the animals that live in that
region.

FOOD
 Different species of wild plants could make
important contribution human food supplies.

 Thus, now we can have salad with variety of

fruits and vegetable which really helpful to
create healthy living to man.

ECOLOGY
 Definition:
 The way in which plants, animals and people are
related to each other and to their environment.
• High diversity may help biological communities
to withstand environmental better than those
with fewer species.
• Biological communities (food production,
nutrient cycling, soil formation, etc) depends on
biodiversity to carry out their natural process.
BIODIVERSITY PROTECTION
1. RECOVERING PLANTS
 Plant more tree

2. HABITAT PROTECTION
 Protect enough habitat for viable populations of all
native species in a given region.
 Allows for human and occupancy at levels that do not
result in significant ecological degradation.
