Audio
Computer Components
 Processor - is an integrated electronic circuit that performs
the calculations that run a computer. It also known as a
central processing unit (CPU) and the “Brain of the
Computer”.
 Memory Unit - the memory unit is a hardware component
that stores data and instructions for the central processing
unit (CPU) to access quickly.
 RAM - is a volatile type of memory that stores data and
instructions temporarily while the computer is in use.
 Hard Disks - a type of storage device used in computers to
store and retrieve digital data using magnetic storage
technology.
CD Drives

CD Drives – used in personal computers come in three different types:

CD ROM – this is a read-only drive that can only read CD-ROM discs, which
contain data that can be read by a computer. It cannot write or rewrite
data to the disc.

CD - R - Once data is written to a CD-R disc, it cannot be erased or

rewritten.

CD – RW - this is a rewritable CD writer drive that can write and rewrite data
to a CD-RW (Compact Disc Rewritable) disc. The data can be erased and
rewritten multiple times.

DVD Drives – a DVD drive is a type of optical drive used to read and write
data to DVDs (Digital Versatile Discs).
Connectors

IDE – stands for Integrated Drive Electronics, which is an older interface

standard used to connect internal storage devices such as hard disk drives
and CD/DVD drives to a computer's motherboard.

SCSI - (Small Computer System Interface) is a set of standards for

connecting and communicating between computers and peripheral
devices such as hard drives, optical drives, tape drives, and scanners.

SATA - stands for (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment), which is a

computer interface standard used to connect internal storage devices
such as hard disk drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and optical drives to a
computer's motherboard.
Connectors

USB – (Universal Serial Bus) is a standard interface used to connect

peripheral devices such as keyboards, mice, printers, external hard drives,
and smartphones to a computer or other host device.

Storage Devices
USB Flash drives – also known as thumb drives or USB sticks, are small,
portable data storage devices that use the USB interface to connect to
computers and other devices.
Speakers and Headphones

Speakers – are typically external devices that produce sound by

converting electrical signals into audible sound waves.

Headphones - wearable devices that are placed over the ears or in the
ear canal to listen to audio.

Microphones
A microphone is an input device that is used to capture sound and convert
it into an electrical signal that can be recorded, amplified, or transmitted.
