Martin Luther King Jr is considered to be one of America's greatest orators and he was eventually
assassinated because of his work in advancing the civil rights campaign. He was an activist and
humanitarian, as well as a devout Christian who believed that he could change the world with
non-violent protests; which he did. He organised marches, parades and campaigns against racial
segregation and dedicated his life to overcoming this racist policy which the government held in
place.
"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons
of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood... I have a
dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by
the colour of their skin but by the content of their character."
He was killed for his determination to bring justice to people who were judged and treated
horribly because of the colour of their skin.

Ukraine: Ukrainian government say temporary ceasefire agreed with rebels around Donetsk
airport
Ukraine’s military have said that its forces and separatist generals have agreed a temporary
ceasefire around the airport in rebel-held Donetsk that has been the focus of fighting for
months.
Residents around the airport said that a lull in the fighting that has been raging on a nearly-daily
basis ensued shortly after the negotiations began.
Any truce agreement concerning the hotly disputed site would mark one of the most tangible
achievements of a general ceasefire that the two sides agreed three months ago but that never
took full force.

One team of researchers has created red blood cells that are ready to go into human study
volunteers. When the clinical trial testing the cells' safety starts, it will be the first time humans
have ever received red blood cells made from adult cells. The cells are made from skin cells taken
from a human donor.
Researchers have long been interested in making red blood cells in lab. The man-made cells
could ensure that a steady supply of fresh cells is available for transfusions. Donated blood must
be used within 42 days, so the donated supply isn't always steady… or available for sudden
surges in demand. Engineered red blood cells would also be designed to be of the universal
donor type, so they would be safe for almost all potential recipients. You can even imagine that,
if the blood-making works exceptionally well, it would eliminate the need for human donors
altogether.
This U.K. effort represents the first time anybody has engineered red blood cells that meet safety
and quality standards for transfusion into humans, according to the cells' lead creator, Marc
Turner of the University of Edinburgh. The university is working with other U.K. schools, the
Scottish National Blood Service, and other private and public U.K. organizations to develop the
lab made blood cells.
Beyond just making the cells, one of the biggest challenges will be making enough of the cells.
"Every single bag of transfused blood has about two trillion red blood cells in it.
It's a ludicrously high number to make in the lab." Joanne Mountford, a researcher working on
the project at the University of Glasgow, said in a statement. "We use two million of those bags
every year in the U.K. alone. Ensuring that any industrially produced blood can be made
economically viable is quite a task."

Article Two of the United States Constitution stipulates that for a person to be elected and serve
as President of the United States, the individual must be a natural-born citizen of the United
States, at least 35 years old, and a resident of the United States for a period of no less than 14
years. Candidates for the presidency typically seek the nomination of one of the various political
parties of the United States, in which case each party devises a method (such as a primary
election) to choose the candidate the party deems best suited to run for the position. The party's
delegates then officially nominate a candidate to run on the party's behalf.

Italy's Davide Andreani received his first Coca Cola can back in 1982 when he was just 5 years
old, an event which was to kick off a lifetime's obsession with the soft drink.
Soon after, Davide began collecting the distinctive tins, with his father bringing him home
unusual designs when returning from his European business trips.
At the last count, confirmed on 14 August 2013, Coke lover Davide was in possession of a record
10,558 unique single-brand cans from 87 countries, setting a new Guinness World Records title
for Largest collection of soft drink cans - same brand.
Now 37, all cans in Davide's collection have been emptied through a small hole in the bottom. If
they were left on display unemptied, they could oxidise or even explode.
Davide has many duplicates, which don't form part of his collection but prove invaluable when
bargaining and swapping cans with other collectors to get missing and rare items. “In the can
world, the rarest gold cans can be sold for between $400 and $500,” he explained in a recent
interview.
Using his website to display rarities in his collection and to assist with trading rare Coca Cola can
collectors items, David searches the globe for tins which only appeared in shops for a limited
time or sometimes never even released to the public. These include rare gold and silver coloured
cans released in various countries for Christmas and special sporting events. "The most valuable
cans are those produced from the factory for a special moment. Like gold cans produced for
plant openings or special anniversaries. But these cans are very limited and very rare," the
passionate collector explained.

When 24-year-old fashion blogger Scarlett Dixon posted a picture of herself having
breakfast, the internet turned nasty. “The best of days start with a smile and positive
thoughts. And pancakes. And strawberries”, Dixon wrote on her Instagram feed. The post
was reposted on Twitter. “Instagram is a ridiculous lie factory made to make us all feel
inadequate”, wrote Nathan from Cardiff. His post, which has garnered more than 111,000
likes (22 times as many as Dixon’s original) and almost 25,000 retweets, prompted a wave
of criticism, with comments going like “Fakelife!”.
Instagram looks like the friendliest social network imaginable. But, for a growing number of
users – and mental health experts – the very positivity of Instagram is precisely the problem.
The site encourages its users to present an upbeat, attractive image that others may find at
best misleading and at worse harmful. Instagram makes you worry that everyone is perfect
– except you.
World Obesity Day: Which countries have the biggest weight problem?
More than 603 million adults and 107 million children (out of a global population of around 7.5
billion) are obese, according to a report published earlier this year from the Institute of Health
Metrics and Evaluation, based at the University of Washington in Seattle. That represents
around five per cent of all children and 12 per cent of all adults.
Telegraph Travel took data from the CIA's World Factbook and, contrary to what some may
believe, it is not the US that tops the chart, but rather American Samoa - an unincorporated
territory of the US in the South Pacific - where a whopping 74.6 per cent are considered to be
obese.
A slew of other South Pacific nations follow, including Nauru, Tonga, Samoa, Palau and Kiribati.
In fact, Kuwait is the only country outside the region to feature in the top 10. There is a clear
obesity problem in the South Pacific, with the weight of adults is increasing at four times the
global average. Some have claimed the islanders are genetically predisposed to putting on
weight, while a 2014 report suggested that colonial settlers, who taught them Western ways of
eating - frying fish, for example, rather than eating it raw - are to blame.
