Re: Calling for the Resignation or Termination of Westland Police Chief Jeff Jedrusik

Dear Members of the Westland City Council and Mayor Londeau,

We are writing to you today calling for the resignation or termination of Westland Police
Chief Jeff Jedrusik. Recently, disturbing videos have come to light from 1999 in which Mr.
Jedrusik is heard harassing citizens in an aggressive and abusive manner.

The actions of our law enforcement officials must always reflect the highest standards of
professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct. The behavior exhibited by Mr. Jedrusik is
reprehensible, has prompted a State Police investigation, and goes against the very
values that we hold dear as a community.

We urge the Westland City Council and Mayor’s Office to take swift and decisive action in
this matter. The people of Westland deserve a police chief who will serve and protect
their community with honor and dignity, and Mr. Jedrusik's behavior in these videos is
clearly not in line with those values.

The only appropriate course of action in this situation is for Mr. Jedrusik to immediately
resign or be terminated from his position as police chief. We urge you to consider this
matter carefully and to take appropriate action to ensure that justice is served for the
citizens of Westland.
