There are vital career development tasks in elementary school that aid the students in
their development, as the stage is characterized by enormous social and emotional development.
An example of a task is engaging the students in career days, where a counselor or a guest can
freely talk to them concerning their line of work. Besides, engaging them in field trips can be an
eye-opener in their development. Other tasks include engaging students in developing job posters
to flex their creativeness and perception concerning a certain job of their interests. Volunteering
activities can expose them to invaluable experiences forming a great avenue through which they
are more equipped when career topic cross their mind (Niles & Harris-Bowlsbey, 2012).
Career development tasks for middle school students aim to enhance the self-awareness
they developed in elementary school through exploration. Examples of tasks that can aid the
process are allowing the students to locate educative career information and various ways
through which they can interpret it. They can also be tasked with filling transferable skills from
group activity and conducting a formal assessment based on interests (Niles & Harris-Bowlsbey,
2012). Additionally, a classroom teacher can organize a speaking session where every student is
involved in describing their interest, participate in job shadowing, and mentorship activities with
