Background
● Wolfgang Tillmans was born in
1968 in Remscheid, Germany.
● He studied at Bournemouth and
Poole College of Art and Design in
the early 1990s in Bournemouth,
England.
● He moved to New York in 1994
where his photography career
began to take off.
Work
● Some of his most notable work
would be with musician Frank
Ocean, where he shot the photo on
the cover of the 2016 album Blonde
and other portraits of the artist.

Other Works
● Some of his more recent works
consist of a series called To Look
Without Fear on display at the
MoMA.
● The display ran from September
12th, 2022 - January 1st, 2023.
● When describing the exhibit,
Tillmans said: “The viewer...should
enter my work through their own
eyes, and their own lives”.
