1. Attach a title page to your assignment. Use previous page as your cover sheet and be sure to
fill in the details correctly.
2. All assignment work should be prepared using word processing software and should be
organized and clearly structured
1. Use a font type that makes it easy for your examiner to read, for example Ariel or Times New
Roman.
2. Use 1.5-line line spacing. Left justify all paragraphs.
3. Ensure that all headings are consistent in terms of size and font style.
4. Use the footer function to insert your Student ID, Name, Subject, Module code, and Page
Number on each page.
5. Use the spell check and grammar check functions to check your assignment.
Assignment Submission
1. Ensure that you give yourself enough time to complete the assignment by the due date. You
must take responsibility for managing your own time effectively.
2. Submit an electronic version uploaded to the student learning management system on or
before the stated deadline.
3. Any submission received 72 hours after the deadline cannot be accepted for marking. It may
be submitted at the next assessment window but this may delay progression to the next level.
4. If you are unable to hand in your assignment on time and have valid reasons such as illness,
you may apply (in writing) for an extension under the terms of the ISDC Mitigating
Circumstances Policy.
5. Non-submission of work without a valid reason will lead to an automatic REFERRAL. You will
then be asked to complete an alternative assignment. Your work will be capped at a PASS.
Declaration of Authenticity
6. Take great care that when you use other people’s work or ideas in your assignment, that you
properly reference, using the HARVARD referencing system, in you text and any bibliography.
Failure to do so could lead to otherwise an investigation and possible penalties for plagiarism,
in line with ISDC’s Malpractice Policy.
I hereby, declare that I know what plagiarism entails, namely to use another’s work and to present it
as my own without attributing the sources in the correct way. I further understand what it means to
copy or use another’s work.
1. I know that plagiarism is a punishable offence because it constitutes theft and the
consequences of plagiarism as outlined in the Malpractice Policy.

Note:
If the number of participants exceeds 100, group leaders can be assigned to each
group. Group leaders will accumulate thoughts of each and every team member via
an informal communication channel (whatsapp group, Facebook group, etc.)
Group leaders will represent their group and will participate in the live discussion.
Feedback session will be open for the whole class.
For example: For 300 students 10 groups of 30 students can be formed and each
group can have 3 leaders who will be participating in the live discussions.
10 groups will have 30 leaders, who will be participating in the live discussion.
Discussion will end with a feedback session which will be open for all the students.
You will need to ensure that you have a good understanding of the leadership style
you have been allocated.
Your group will then be presented with a business problem which is causing conflict
and which requires effective leadership.
After the act/demonstration, you should try to identify the leadership style.
Finally, to conclude this activity, you should all discuss the essential qualities of an
effective leader and submit your learning via a write-up of not more than 250 words.
Note:
If the number of participants exceeds 100, select any15 participants who will
demonstrate business conflict and different leadership styles.
The discussion at the end will be open for all the participants followed by a write-up
submission.
Task D:
Summative Assignment
Each learner is required to submit a short report.
Your report should cover the following points:
Describe different forms of groups and explain how the status of and the size
of the group affects group performance
Distinguish between team and group and explain the stages of group
development
Explain the role of conflict management in resolving issues
Explain the steps of a negotiation process and describe how individual
differences influence negotiations
Outline Contingency, situational, transformational and trait theories of
leadership
Explain autocratic, democratic, charismatic, transformational and Laissez-faire
leadership styles along with their benefits and disadvantages.
The total number of words for summative assessments should not be more than
1000 words
