She was so
funny and mysterious. I fell in love almost immediately. The next few weeks were
amazing; we went to different places and had a great time getting to know each other.
Everything was perfect until one night, as I was about to go to sleep, I got a text message
on my phone. The message was "be careful; she’s not what you think". I thought it was a
kind of prank, and I didn’t pay any attention to it.
The next day I was at the library, and a man approached me. He sat in front of me and told
me that he’s Lucy’s ex-boyfriend, and his goal is to get her back. He told me that they still
see each other, and things seem to be going in the right direction. I was petrified and
disappointed, so I decided to break off the relationship.
After a few months, I decided to start doing sports instead of feeling sorry for myself. And
while out running one day, I met somebody else. However, her name was Karen, and
honestly, she caught my attention because she reminded me of Lucy. I realized I was still in
love with her, and it was not fair for Karen to be with her just because she looked like
Lucy.
I told Karen that I needed some time off. She couldn’t understand that, and she asked me to
stay away from her.
The big lesson I learned is that I first need to feel good about myself before feeling good
about someone else, so I decided to be a better person.
Peter: I talked to your ex-boyfriend last day. It seems you are making good progress.
Lucy: We see each other because we are in the same class, and we must present a project
together.
Peter: Oh, that’s why you stay until 1:00 a.m. in his house!
Lucy: "I was with a group of four other people working on my project!"
Peter: Then why didn’t you tell me you still see your ex-boyfriend?
Peter: "Well, maybe you can explain why everyone keeps telling me you cheat on me."
Lucy: Well, if you don’t trust me, there's nothing else I can do.
Peter: Goodbye.
