officials? Give 5 and explain.

- Provide leadership and guidance to participants, ensuring that the competition is conducted in a safe and
fair manner.
- To have the integrity to judge an outcome fairly
- Has the technical insight and skill of the sport they are officiating
- Is impartial and unbiased to the participating teams
- Competent in their role
2. What are the types of officiating & kinds of officials?
- Referee.
- Linesman.
- Third Official.
- Umpire.
- Scorer.
- Line Judge.

3. Give the bases of good sports officiating.
- Integrity, honesty, trustworthiness and respect are integral to the role of the official. This includes how they
behave and relate to others prior to, during and after competition, how they present themselves as an
official, and how they go about their role.
4. Write the qualities of an official.
- Administrative mind- having an open mind and objectively evaluating circumstances.
- Integrity – trustworthy of classified information, truthful genuine and committed to
his/her words.
- Good human relations – gets along with others with instilling good relations
- Healthy and fit – for un interrupted flow in getting a demanding job done.
- Ready to take on responsibility- accountable to tasks and handling of personnel.
- Awareness of work – know how on specific field of organization
- Intellectual capacity – competitiveness in thinking and logical reasoning effective at
imparting and applying knowledge.
