First of all, give thanks for God's love and grace for us.
Thanks to God for helping me and giving me the opportunity to finish this paper on time. And I
would like to thank SIS Purba, S.Pd as my teacher and gave a lot of knowledge about how to
practice English well.
One of them is by making this paper entitled Kind Of Text, I realize that this understanding is
not perfect. But hopefully it can be useful for us. Criticism and suggestions are needed here to
make this research better.
We hope that we as students at SMP N 1 Sirandorung can work more professionally by using
English as a second language, whatever we do. Thank You.

menggambarkan suatu objek (benda,orang, atau tempat) dalam bahasa Inggris.
Generic Structure Descriptive Text
Didalam Generic Structure Descriptive Text ada 2 bagian;
• Identification: Dalam bagian ini berisi penggambaran secara singkat mengenai objek yang
akan kita gambarkan/deskripsipkan.
• Description: Dalam bagian berisi deskripsi/gambaran mengenai objek yang kita amati
(penjabaran dari bagian Identification).

My Favorite Teacher
My favorite teacher is my history teacher, and he is by far the best teacher that I have ever had.
He has the ability to make a subject that many students find incredibly boring come to life
through his enthusiasm and passion for history, and his love of being a teacher. Attending his
lessons is something we look forward to, not dread, like we do with most other lessons.
It’s ever so funny to watch him get excited about something, which happens in every lesson. It’s
easy to know that he’s getting excited because he begins bouncing up and down slightly in a
way that no other sixty-something year old would ever managed without looking completely
ridiculous. He has this dark (with more and more grey streaks these days), springy hair that lines
the edge of his growing bald patch, and the hair bounces up and down with him like thousands
of tiny little springs. Then, he takes on his whole new persona, often going into role and
becoming the character or figure he is talking about, doing the voices, the actions, and parading
up and down the room gesticulating wildly, but all the while there’s a gentle ‘bounce, bounce,
bounce’, as though the springs are not just on his head but on the soles of his shoes too.
A teacher that doesn’t take himself too seriously always will be a big hit with teenagers,
although he’s not afraid to impose his authority if he has to. I’ve only ever heard him properly
shout once (although thankfully it wasn’t it me), but it isn’t an experience that I would like to
repeat. When he lost it, the room suddenly became more silent than I’d ever known it to be
before. We all sat slightly paralyzed, not even anting to breathe too loudly, because hearing such
a jovial and jolly little man lose his temper was a huge shock. It certainly had the right kind of
impact though, because he’s never needed to shout since.
It is actually this teacher that I have to thank for my love of history. In his lessons, history does
not mean copying out of textbooks and writing pages and pages of notes. History is alive;
history is something tangible, that you can see, hear and feel, and we can live it through dressing
up and acting out scenes or taking trips to important places of historical interest. And although
he’s getting on in years and may not be teaching for much longer, he will have an important
place in history for many of his students, because there has never been a teacher able to bring a
subject to life in quite the same way he does.
Honey Bee
This is an extraordinary, curious, and remarkably industrious little insect, to which mankind are
indebted for one of the most palatable and wholesome sweets which nature affords; and which
was one of the choice articles with which the promised land was said to abound.
In every hive of bees, there are three kinds; the queen, the drones, and the labourers: of these
last, there are by far the greatest number: and as cold weather approaches, they drive from the
hives and destroy the drones, that have not laboured in summer, and will not let them eat in
winter.
If bees are examined through a glass hive, all appears at first like confusion: but, on a more
careful inspection, every animal is found regularly employed. It is very delightful, when the
maple and other trees are in bloom, or the clover in the meadows, to be abroad and hear their
busy hum.

NARRATIVE TEXT
Narrative Text adalah sebuah text yang berfungsi untuk menceritakan sebuah kisah/cerita di
masa lampau dan bertujuan sebagai penghibur.
Generic Structure Narrative Text
Ada beberapa bagian dalam Generic Structure Narrative Text, yaitu;
• Orientation: Dalam bagian ini berisi pegenalan cerita yang akan ceritakan,adapun
pengenalanya mengenai tempat dan tokoh dalam cerita.
• Complication: Dalam bagian ini berisi cerita yang sedang terjadi pada cerita tersebut. biasanya
juga ditandai dengan munculnya sebuah konflik/masalah dalam cerita.
• Resolution : Dalam bagian ini berisi akhir/ending pada cerita, yang biasanya ditandai dengan
selesainya sebuah konflik dalam cerita (Pemecahan masalah)
• Reorientation: Pada bagian ini berisi kesimpulan dalam cerita.

The Two Sisters and A Cat


Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Smith are sisters. Mrs. Wilson lives in a house in Duncan and Mrs. Smith
lives in a condominium in Victoria. One day Mrs. Wilson visited her sister. When her sister
answered the door, Mrs. Wilson saw tears in her eyes. “What’s the matter?” she asked. Mrs.
Smith said “My cat Sammy died last night and I have no place to bury him”.
She began to cry again. Mrs. Wilson was very sad because she knew her sister loved the cat very
much. Suddenly Mrs.. Wilson said “I can bury your cat in my garden in Duncan and you can
come and visit him sometimes.” Mrs. Smith stopped crying and the two sisters had tea together.
It was now five o’clock and Mrs. Wilson said it was time for her to go home. She put on her hat,
coat and gloves and Mrs. Smith put the dead Sammy into a shopping bag. Mrs. Wilson took the
shopping bag and walked to the bus stop. She waited a long time for the bus so she bought a
newspaper. When the bus arrived, she got on the bus, sat down and put the shopping bag on the
floor beside her feet. She then began to read the newspaper. When the bus arrived at her bus
stop, she got off the bus and walked for about two minutes. Suddenly she remembered she had
left the shopping bag on the bus

Dewi Sri
Once upon a time, Batara Guru commanded all the gods and goddesses to contribute their power
in order to build a new palace. Anybody who disobeyed this commandment was considered lazy
and would lose their arms and legs.
Hearing the Batara Guru’s commandment, Naga god was very anxious because he didn’t have
arms or legs. He might not be able to do the job. So he asked advice from Batara Narada who
was the younger brother of Batara Guru. Unfortunately Narada was also confused. The Naga
god became very upset.
While the Naga god was crying for his bad luck, three teardrops fell on the ground. Not long
after that, those teardrops became three beautiful shining eggs which looked like jewels. Then
Batara Narada advised him to offer those shining eggs to Batara Guru.
With the three eggs in his mouth, the Naga god went to the Batara Guru’s palace. On the way, an
eagle asked him a question. Surely Naga god could not answer the question because he was
holding the eggs in his mouth. Seeing that, the bird thought that the Naga god was arrogant and
the bird attacked him.
Being attacked, one egg fell to earth. Then the Naga god was hiding in the bushes but the bird
was waiting for him. The bird attacked for the second time and one egg fell again. So Naga god
only had one egg in his mouth. He kept moving to Batara Guru’s palace.
Finally the Naga god arrived at the palace. He offered the egg to the Batara Guru. And
miraculously the egg hatched became a very beautiful baby girl. Naga god gave the baby girl to
the Batara Guru. The baby grew up into a beautiful girl and later became known as Dewi Sri.

My Grandpas Hometown
Two weeks ago, I and my family were in my grandpa’s hometown. it is our annual agenda every
holiday in the end of Semester. Unfortunately, it was rainy season there.
it rained almost every day there. We had no enough time to visit some tourism places there
because of the rain. We had no enough sunlight even to dry up our laundries. As a result, we just
stayed at home almost all day long. Seeing the condition, we decided to make an interesting
activity indoor to spend the holiday together. The activity we chose that day was making funny
videos directed by me. Finishing the videos, we edited them and made them uploaded in
youtube.
By doing this, we could kill our boredom of staying at home because of the rain and made a
creative activity instead.

A Trip to Borobudur Temple


Three years ago, I and my classmates visited Borobudur Temple. We went to Borobudur temple
by bus. We left our school at nine o’clock. It took us 24 hours to arrive there. I arrived there nine
o’clock the next day. Along the road, we saw many vehicles, unique houses, prominent
buildings, and some other tourists.

After we arrived at the Borobudur temple, one of my teachers went to buy tickets. After we
waited him for a moment we entered into Borobudur temple area. Then we went up to the top of
the temple. Borobudur temple was built at Budur Village, Magelang, Jawa Tengah by Syailendra
Dynasty. Borobudur Temple is the biggest temple in the world. It has 504 statues and 1.400
reliefs. From the top of the temple we can see such beautiful scenery. I and my friends went
around the temple together. Finally, after having some visits, we should go to the hotel to stay
and continue our study tour the next day.

We felt tired that day but we felt so happy to visit Borobudur temple which is well-known as one
of the greatest legacies Indonesia has ever had. I hope the temple can be loved by all of the
visitors and the government.

• Aim/Goal: Dalam bagian ini berisi tentang pemaparkan tujuan dari proses
pembuatan/melakukan sesuatu.
• Materials/ Equipment: Dalam bagian ini berisi barang-barang atau benda (alat) yang akan
digunakan untuk membuat/ melakukan sesuatu.
• Steps: Dalam bagian ini berisi langkah-langkah atu cara-cara dalam membuat atau melakukan

How to Make Ice Lemon Tea

Ingredients:

1 bag of teabag
2 pieces of lemon orange
2 tsp of sugar
6 Ice cubes
50 ml of hot water
150 ml of cold water
Steps:

Brewed tea bag in 50 ml of hot water.


Add sugar, and then stir until evenly distributed.
Squeeze the lemon. Then, pour lemon juice into the tea.
Add ice cubes and add 150 ml of cold water.
Stir until the lemon juice mixes with the tea.
Add lemon slices as decoration.
Ice Lemon Tea is ready to be served.

How to Make Pencil Box

Materials:

Scissors
Glue
Paint maker
The procedure to make a pencil box:

Find a box.
Peel off any labels.
Cut new labels from clean sheets of construction paper. Glue them on your box using a glue
stick.
Use decorative papers, stickers, paint markers, or hand-drawn drawn designs to embellish your
box.
Fill the box and you’re done!
