 WHAT IS A CERAMIC+ STUDIO?

Our design and production processes are not limited

to clay. Each handmade piece is derived through the
use of a variety of skillsets. Because we feel the sky is

the limit in design, our resourceful and multi-
disciplined team not only utilizes traditional artisanal
practices but also relies on our other collective skills
such as graphic design, illustration, photography,
videography, philosophy and engineering.

CASE STUDIES

 NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE
Project goal: To create a capital funds donor wall representing the path to sustainability.

 This concept represents the

formation of a structured path.
The stones (tiles) start out loosely
organized and as the path progresses
down the wall becomes more de ined
and tightly laid. The transformation of
the path represents the involvement
of Neighborhood House in the lives of
its clients. The support, direction, and
guidance it provides, helps to de ine
a clearer/easier to follow path to
sustainability.

 Five di erent sizes and designs represent the
five levels of donation. Each design depicts a
di erent geometric structure with associated
symbolism, serving as a focus for meditation.
In addition, we printed small die cut cards
displayed in a wall pocket so it could be taken
by the viewer and kept as a focus for
meditation or a reminder of Neighborhood
House and the support it provides.

PROCESS VIDEO:
 NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE

In this proposal we focus on the

presence of those who made significant
donations in the entr yway of
Neighborhood House. These names
may seem ambiguous during the day to
day operations of this organization.
After all, when there are such emergent
needs the last thing thought about are
the doors, walls, ceiling etc.

However these donors contributions

are more than significant. They are
critical and their presence is important.

 We feel that the circle is one of the most

important shapes in symbology. It represents
the infinite nature of energy. When any
symbol is shown within a circle it speaks to
inclusiveness and unification. Circles
suggest we are all one, representing the ow
of energy from donor to volunteer to those
who seek help from this amazing
organization.

Each circular tile represents a ‘new

beginning’, with an abstract mountain and
sun coming behind of it.
