Objective
To apply the knowledge of connectors and complete it to the correct sentence.

Results
1. Continue practicing the use of connectors to compare and contrast ideas. Complete
the following sentences by filling in the blanks with the appropriate connector from the
box below.
in spite of / even though / although / as a result / but / in order to / thanks to / since

1. We are recollecting the employees’ names in order to send an announcement to


everybody.
2. I’ve been trying to call but the phones are not working properly.
3. Thanks to our efforts, the company obtained great sales this month.
4. The prices went up as a result of the vitality in the market.
5. We’ve been getting to work on time in spite of the traffic jams.
6. My coworker got a raise although she has only been working for a few months.
7. My family is not going on vacation even though we have all summer free.
8. My friend has been very busy since she got a new job.

Conclusion
In this activity I learned about some new connectors I’m not familiarized with. I used
them in sentences, but I never thought they were called connectors. Now, I know is very
important to use the correct connector, because otherwise the sentence won’t make
sense and also can change the meaning of a sentence.
