1. What do you know about assessment?

— In education, the term assessment refers to the wide variety of methods or
tools that educators use to evaluate, measure, and document the academic
readiness, learning progress, skill acquisition, or educational needs of students.
Assessment is the systematic basis for making inferences about the learning and
development of students. It is the process of defining, selecting, designing,
collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and using information to increase students'
learning and development.Assessment is a way of supporting learning. It helps
teachers, learners, parents and others to understand the depth and breadth of
learning undertaken so that progress and next steps can be discussed and
planned.
2. What do you want to learn further about assessment?
— Assessment is quint essential to learning. The general notion is that
assessments are the big, final exams that take place at the end of a term or a
school year. But, that is not always the case. Even a small discussion or a Kahoot
game can work as a quick assessment. Exams and essays along with speeches and
projects are forms of assessment. Assessment is a critical step in the learning
process. It determines whether or not the course's learning objectives have been
met. A learning objective is what students should know or be able to do by the
time a lesson is completed. Assessment affects many facets of education,
including student grades, placement, and advancement as well as curriculum,
instructional needs, and school funding.

3. Why do you think assessment important in the teaching-learning process?

— Assessments are extremely important while teaching a concept in a class. Not
only does it serve the students, but it also serves the teachers. Assessments work
as an excellent feedback mechanism to let the student know about their progress.
Assessments serve the students by letting them know what errors they made and
how they could correct those errors. It also helps students to reinforce the content
better in the event they don't remember it very well. It helps the students
demonstrate what they've learned and understand the content that the teacher
took weeks preparing, developing, and teaching. The results of such assessments
done over a period of time, then help evaluate student progress. This also helps
the students motivate themselves.
4. What are your expectations about this class (subject, instructor, and classmates)
?
— I expect my teacher will provide me the opportunity to learn and understand
the concepts in this course in a way that I can understand and give adequate
feedback on my abilities, in order to apply this knowledge and achieve my goal.
