OBJECTIVE
To design and fabricate a drill press machine that meets the
following criteria:
1. Accuracy: The machine should be able to drill holes with
high precision and accuracy, ensuring that the drilled
holes are of the desired diameter and depth.
2. Efficiency: The machine should be able to drill holes
quickly and efficiently, reducing the time required for
drilling operations.
3. Durability: The machine should be durable and robust,
able to withstand the wear and tear of regular use.
SCOPE
Industrial Manufacturing: In the manufacturing
industry, drill press machines are used for creating
precise holes in a wide range of materials.

DIY and Home Projects: Drill press machines are also

useful for DIY projects and home repair work. They
can be used for drilling holes in wood, metal, and other
m a t e r i a l s.

Research and Development: Researchers and

engineers often use drill press machines to create
prototypes and experimental parts.

Efficiency and Productivity: Designing and fabricating a

custom drill press machine can result in increased
efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing or
fabrication environment.
ABSTRACT

1 THE DRILL PRESS IS A VERSATILE MACHINE THAT

USES A MULTIPLE-CUTTING-EDGED DRILL BIT
SECURED IN A ROTATING CHUCK TO BORE AND
DRILL HOLES, NORMALLY INTO WOOD STOCK.

2 it is the most important part of the drilling machine

because it carries the whole weight of the drilling
machine. Cast iron or steel material is used to make the
base of the drilling machine. The drill base is very rigid
due to being made of cast iron material

3 THE DRILL BIT IS USUALLY A ROTARY

CUTTING TOOL, OFTEN MULTI-POINT. THE BIT
IS PRESSED AGAINST THE WORK-PIECE AND
ROTATED AT RATES FROM HUNDREDS TO
THOUSANDS OF REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE.
