First of all, a Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is a partnership between local authorities and businesses that seek to foster enterprise and innovation in their local area. Often the areas LEPs represent correspond with counties, but sometimes they represent larger regions, such as the New Anglia LEP. Enterprise Zones are areas across England that provide tax breaks and Government support. They are great places to do business especially for both new and expanding firms. LEPs aim is to convince new businesses and jobs for where no businesses or jobs exist. Some of the benefits from LEPs can be seen in Lancashire, for example the LEP will have created 50000 new jobs by next year. By Jenny Chalmers
