Carboxyl hemoglobin can exacerbate pre-existing conditions that are susceptible to reduced oxygen uptake, such as chronic lung
disease, coronary artery disease or anemia. Skin contact may aggravate pre-existing dermatitis.
It can build up in tanks, pits, small rooms, and even equipment used for degreasing metal parts (degreaser). vapors of this product.
Do not enter pits, closed and unventilated areas suspected of being present without using special breathing apparatus and a person
who can provide assistance if necessary. on CONTACT CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION8. See section.
Hand protection Use gloves with chemical resistance classified under EN374. Protective gloves against chemicals and
microorganisms. Preferred impermeable materials for gloves include: viton, polyvinyl alcohol, Ethyl vinyl
alcohol laminate ("EVAL"). Acceptable glove sealing materials include: butyl rubber, In case of prolonged
and frequently repeated contact, it is recommended to use a glove of protection class 5 or higher
(penetration time greater than 240 minutes according to EN 374). If only brief contact is expected, it is
recommended to use gloves of protection class 3 or higher (penetration time greater than 60 minutes
according to EN 374). CAUTION: While choosing a glove for a specific application and usage period in the
workplace, the following should be considered, but not limited to: Other chemicals that may be handled,
physical requirements (cut/puncture protection, dexterity, heat protection), body reactions to the glove
material together with the glove supplier's recommended instruction/specification.
Eye Protection Use chemical goggles. Chemical protection glasses must comply with EN 166 or equivalent standards. If
exposure to vapor causes eye discomfort, use a full-face respirator
Breath Protection Concentrations in air should always be kept below the exposure limit. When respiratory protection is
required for some procedures, use an approved over-compressed air respirator. For emergency action
where the atmospheric level is unknown, use an approved self-contained, positive-pressure breathing
apparatus or positive-pressure, self-contained air line.

result of the formation of hydrochloric acid. Avoid contact with the following types of metals: Zinc dusts. Aluminum powders.
Magnesium powders. Potassium. Sodium. Avoid unconscious contact with: Amines
10.6. Hazardous decomposition products
The formation of hazardous decomposition products is dependent on temperature, air supply and the presence of other substances.
Decomposed products include, but are not limited to: Hydrogen chloride.
Material that may contain traces of decomposition products: Chlorine. phosgene
11) TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
11.1. Information on toxic effects
Toxic effects It has been observed that methylene chloride increases the incidence of malignant tumors in mice and
benign tumors in rats. Animal studies for methylene chloride alone, as well as epidemiological studies in
humans, have shown no tumorigenic response. When used as recommended, methylene chloride is not
considered to have measurable carcinogenic effects in humans. Studies have shown that tumors seen in
mice are species specific. Studies in workers with concomitant exposure to methylene chloride and 1,2-
dichloropropane have reported increased incidences of cholangiocarcinoma.
Oral LD50>2000 mg/kg (rat)
Dermal LD50>2000 mg/kg (rat)
Respiratory In closed or poorly ventilated areas, vapors can accumulate easily and cause unconsciousness and death.
Vapors may cause irritation of the upper respiratory tract (nose and throat). Overexposure can impair the
blood's ability to transport oxygen, causing carboxyhemoglobinemia. Very little anesthetic or narcotic
effects may be seen at methylene chloride concentrations of 500-1000 ppm. Levels higher than 1000 ppm
can cause dizziness and intoxication, respectively, and concentrations of 10 000 ppm can cause
unconsciousness and death. In addition, these high levels can also cause irregular heartbeats. In addition,
these high levels can also cause irregular heartbeats.
LC50, mouse, 4 Hours, steam, 86 mg/l
Other Inhalation into the lungs during ingestion or vomiting may result in rapid absorption and damage by other
body systems.
12) ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
12.1.Toxicity
Fish The substance is not harmful to aquatic organisms (LC50/EC50/IC50 greater than 100 mg/L).
LC50, Pimephales promelas (Carp calf), flow-through test, 96 Hours, 193 mg/l
NOEC, Pimephales promelas (Carp calf), flow-through test, 28 d, growth, 83 mg/l
Spineless LC50, Daphnia magna (Water flea), static test, 27 mg/l, OECD Test Guideline 202 or Equivalent
Alga EbC50, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (green algae), 96 Hours, Biomass, > 662 mg/l, OECD Test Guideline 201 or
Equivalent
12.2. Persistence and degradability
Permanence Biodegradation: Biodegradation may occur under aerobic conditions (if oxygen is present).
The rate of biodegradation may increase as the soil and/or water acclimate.
10-Day Window: Not applicable.
Biodegradation: 66 % Exposure
time: 50 Hours Method:
Simulation study
12.3. Bioaccumulation potential
Bioaccumulation Bioaccumulation: Bioconcentration potential is low (BCF < 100 or Log Pow < 3). Partition
coefficient ( n-octanol/water)(log POW): 1.25 at 20 °C Measured
