Definitions of Communication
Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place, person or
group to another. Every communication involves (at least) one sender, a message and a
receiver.
Keith Davis: Communication is a process of passing information and understanding from
one person to another.
2. John Adair: Communication is essentially the ability of one person to make contact
with another and make himself or herself understood.
Forms of Communication
Intrapersonal communication
Intrapersonal communication which is only done within one's own mind with one's own
thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
Interpersonal Communication
In interpersonal communication, there's always more than one person.Two
people communicating means interpersonal.

Group Communication
Group communication is communication among three or more people interacting to achieve a
shared goal. You have likely worked in groups in high school and college, university
Public Communication
Public communication is a sender-focused form of communication in which one person is
typically responsible for conveying information to an audience.
Mass Communication
Public communication becomes mass communication when it is transmitted to many people
through print or electronic media.
