street that neither continues after some time nor has a
lasting effect on those involved cannot be considered
dyadic communication.

There are 2 types of dyadic communication: INFORMAL and FORMAL

TELEPHONING is the most frequently and extensively used. This involves
two people talking through any communication device.

DICTATION is a special type of communication in which two people


communicate directly through a communication device. The goal is often to
have someone type or input into the computer the message to be sent to its
recipient.

FACE-TO-FACE COMMUNICATION is the most common type of dyadic
communication. It has 3 kinds:

1. INTERVIEW it involves two people interacting through question-and


answer format to achieve specific goals. It is the most purposive because
it uses inquiry to obtain information.
2. CASUAL CONVERSATION is an informal spoken exchange of thoughts,
opinions, and feelings that has no formal purpose and is less intimate and
serious compares to interview.
3. DIALOGUE is the type of communication in which the deepest and most
personal.

It occurs among three or up to twenty
people.
It is usually a shared and purposeful
communication wherein people exchange
and evaluate ideas or information to
understand a subject or solve a problem.
In small group, you focus on yourself, your
group members, and the topic of discussion.
