NATURE OF

COMMUNICATION
MODULE 1: LESSON 1

PREPARED BY: Ms. Ludielyn S. Mahinay

COMMUNICATION
▪ defined as the process of sharing and conveying messages or
information from one person to another within and across
contexts, channels, cultures, and media.

▪ It can be a group discussion, a face-to-face interaction, a

meeting, a phone call conversation, an interview, a class
recitation, and others.
Nature Of Communication
Communication, as previously
defined, entails the transmission or
exchange of messages. Therefore, it
is critical to have a 'message' to
convey. However, the delivery of a
message between the sender and
the receiver can be influenced by a
variety of factors and nature.
1. Communication is a
process.
There are steps that must
be taken in order to
achieve successful
communication. The
process is circular
because it usually begins
with the sender, then
moves to the receiver, and
then returns to the sender
in the form of feedback.

2. Communication occurs
between two or more people.
Communication
happens when two or
more people – the
speaker and the
receiver – successfully
convey ideas to one
another, resulting in an
effective solution or
discussion (Juneja,
2008).

expressed through words,
actions, or both at the same
time.
