Good morning, Dr. Medrano! Let me start by thanking you for the effort of meeting us today virtually.
Despite the difficulties we encounter in navigating the Moodle class, you still manage to welcome and
orient us about this course Eng 204-Structure of English.
As stated in our course syllabus, this course is comprised of the following topics: Overview of the Structure
of Language, Myths about Language, Definitions of Language, Design Features of Language, Brief History
of the English Language, Phonology, Morphology and Syntax. Hence, this made me expect of advancing
my skills and knowledge of the Structure of Language itself and its sub contents. I am expecting to review
and deepen my understanding of the different areas of English language and to also develop my grammar
competence. I am looking forward to achieve all the learning outcomes written in our course syllabus with
your guidance.
I'm hoping for a holistic approach, an exciting learning, real-life tasks, and hands-on activities from this
course. I anticipate that we will be prepared not only for exams, but also for life in general.
Again, thank you and God bless us all.
