WRITING TASK 2: When choosing a job, the salary is the most important
consideration. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Your answer:
People have so many considerations when choosing a job. For example: salary, work
environment, colleague, boss, etc. But it is reasonable to say that salary is the most
important consideration when choosing a job? In this essay, I will give some reasons
why I disagree with this opinion.
I know salary is one of the important factors that everyone cares when they do work
because when you have high income, you can take yourself better, buy high quality food,
clothes and many other things. There have been instances that workers seek for white-
collar jobs, give up their passion with old job because new job guarantees them can earn
their living. But passion is a main key for your success and a long term job, of course
with relative income. But in next special situation, salary is quite important or maybe it is
the most. Artists and Musicians are known for choosing the career they love but they
don’t always earn high incomes to live comfortably and take care their family.
Other reasons you can consider is that you must sacrifice so much for a job with high
income, maybe is your time, your health, place distance. High income means that you
have to work very much, can your health suffer it? Next, if you work in a negative
environment, you won’t feel happy and be full of passion, for sure it will affect to your
work and your mental health. So you get high salary but poor mental health, it is not
good, is it?
Conclusion, I think salary is important but it is not the most important thing when you
get a job. You have to consider many other factors to ensure that you can work in
positive environment, not too much stress and you love that job.
