ACTIVITY TITLE: Case Analysis
CASE STORY TITLE: A Better Alternative for the Youth of Barangay Maligalig

Conflict Identification
In the case of Brgy, Maligalig, As part of the youth, I've become ashamed and shockingly after I
read this case because it is now crucial for the community itself. Although the community has
better development in every activity that the barangay officials gave, the only problems are the
youth who have no participation in every activity proposed by the officials. Instead, they do
immoral things like Fighting, smoking cigars, using illegal drugs, and other things that they will do
immoral. In other words, this is a case of a street gang throughout the community. Unfortunately
for this community, most of the children had a bad influence from the gang.
Plan of Action
My plan for this community has two scenarios, one with a good approach and the other showing a bad
approach. The excellent approach was to address the youth by doing a drug symposium to reduce the
cases of drugs from the youth. Health Symposium is also mandatory for the community because cases like
smoking cigars, drinking alcohol, and other immature things from the youth could lead to health
complications. Lastly, we have to create a therapy session for the youth and everyone in the community
to maintain their mental health. I like the idea of having a contest-related recreational program like
singing, dancing, and other recreational programs that will motivate every youth to join this kind of
activity. However, if the youth continues the bad influence, the worst approach comes. Starting from now
on, I will ask the barangay officials to have curfew hours. It will give them a limited time to return home.
Arresting the teenagers will only give them a stern warning if they committed immoral activities. This
approach could never happen unless the community is getting some improvement.

Reflection
I reflected that this was the complete opposite of other cases that I've read about. Gang activities usually
happen on a narrow street, but most of the time, they do bad stuff. I can't blame the parents because
they work so hard to raise their children properly, but the only thing that I should blame is the attitude of
every youth toward becoming aggressive. The only thing we could do was help them become better
people and the way we should act like civilized people. It is time where should do as young adults to learn
our own mistakes.
