CASE STORY TITLE: A Better Alternative for the Youth of Barangay Maligalig

Conflict Identification

The concern is the threat to the welfare of the youth. A report was given by the vendors wherein
group of teenagers were sniffing and using solvents and rugbys and are even smoking and drinks
alcohol in the vicinity. Some even claimed that they were also using illegal drugs and are being a
nuisance by creating disturbance to the market. They are even recruiting other to join their
activities and end up with violence when they refuse.

Plan of Action

Some residents suggest to create a recreational program instead of sportsfest while some says
that peer and individual counseling will help the kids from abusing the use of their addiction and
will be open minded of what could have happened if they continue their habits. Some suggests
that to let one family member must be present or involve. They even suggested that to make an
activity to test their skill so that by the end of the day they would get tired and just rest.

Reflection

I believe that proper education and parental guidance is very important to youths nowadays. Kids
are very curious and they learn from their surroundings that’s why some may lead them from
learning bad or good habits. With proper education and parental guidance we must teach our
kids to know what not and what to do and what is right and what is wrong.
