CASE STORY TITLE: The Children of Sitio Mabolon

Conflict Identification
There are many problems that Sitio Mabolon are experiencing, the first one is the malnourishment
where some children are suffering from marasmus and kwashiorkor. The next is Sitio Mabolon
have limited access to the services that the government provide and limited outreach program
from NGOs. Third is the lack of medical support, which result to untreated diseases. Last is poverty,
since they are experiencing poverty, they can’t get a right amount of food that they need.

Plan of Action
To minimize these problems, the government should implement programs that will be able to help
Sitio Mabolon and take actions not only in this place but the other places near and have similar
problems as them. The government of Sitio Mabolon should also try to implement planting of
different kinds of food crops in order for them to have sustainable food source.

Reflection
Due to poverty, many people are experiencing lack of food supply and they also experiencing
malnutrition. It is not only caused by poverty but also lack of government support. Malnutrition
has long term effects that affects the different lifestyle of people especially children. I realize that
the government need to pay more attention to problems such as malnutrition in order to minimize
its harmful effects.
