REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What is the significance of the articles and information in the chapter to the dimensions of
development? To the CWTS Program?
Student’s Answer:

Dimensions of development would guide CWTS on what services they need to focus on for their
community. There are different areas on which CWTS can alleviate the living of their community, namely
the social, economic, and environmental. Under the acronym of SERVICE, CWTS students can decide on
which dimensions that his or her community badly needed for immediate action based on articles,
observations, and oral information.

The acronym SERVICE stands for Safety and security, Education, Recreation, values formation and
Moral recovery, Industry and entrepreneurship, Care for health, and Environment. Safety and security
ensures the protection of people from natural and manmade calamities. Education aims to elevate the
thinking and learning of the students who are out of school youth and areas which lack education.
Recreation aims to enhance or acquire skills, talents, and values of the youth. Values formation and
recovery enables the youth to be disciplined and have better ethics by promoting and shaping good values
and character. Industry and entrepreneurship aim to solve financial literacy for the poorest of the poor,
poorest of the poor becomes part of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises. Care for Health aims to give
knowledge about health issues in the community and extend health services to prevent the spreading of
health issues like communicable diseases. The environment concerns the overall life of the people, but
importantly focuses on the care for the world and its nature. My chosen dimension of development for
my community is Values formation and Moral recovery. Nowadays, youth need to be contained and
discipline because most chaos is spearheaded by the Filipino youth. I want to change the lifestyle and
thinking of those youths by forming their values and exposing them to good morals.

Surely, Dimensions of development are the core services of CWTS program that students need to
experience. Through these articles and information the student can decide on which dimension to focus
on for his or her community project. By knowing the significance of dimensions of development, CWTS can
make an impact in society through creating change and progress the lives of the people.
