REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What are the significant traits of an effective community organizer? How do you see yourself as a
community organizer or part of the community organizing initiative of the University?
Student’s Answer:

An effective community organizer is an enabler, facilitator, animator, and catalyst. They’re the ones
who understand and apply the development theories, concepts, and process of community organizing. He
or she has good interpersonal relationships and interaction by being good at community relation skills and
displaying camaraderie of the group. A community organizer should be sensitive to his or her actions
towards the environment. They enable communities to access specialized technical assistance and address
the community issues by applying their knowledge and skills from the CWTS course.

I see myself as a servant leader. I am a community organizer that has good observations for my
community, listens to the cries of my environment, helping hands to significantly help my people, and feet
to start positive changes in my community. For me to become an effective community organizer, I should
teach by showing and learn by doing. I must execute a well-planned community organizing process. The
methods of community organizing social preparation, Education and training, value orientation, and
mobilization must be applied whenever I am creating community projects.

A servant leader is how I see myself as a community organizer. I lead by example. I would apply all
the theories and concepts of community organizing. I have good social and community relation skills to
promote social integration. I can work individually and collectively. I am sensitive to the actions that I will
be executing towards my community and the environment. Lastly, I am a person who continues to
develop himself.
