REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What are the significant traits of an effective community organizer? How do you see yourself as a
community organizer or part of the community organizing initiative of the University?
Student’s Answer:

We humans always live as a group since the ancient times. As our civilization advance like discovery
of farming to get food, our nomad civilization become sedentary civilization were in we stay in one place
to do agriculture. By this, a community will be made and will grow to become what modern communities
or cities we have now. In this article, I will talk about the significant traits of an effective community
organizer and how do I see myself as a community organizer or part of the community organizing
initiatives of the university.

To be an effective community organizer, one must have the following traits to be; have
understanding of development theories and concepts and processing of community organizing, good
social and community relation skills, ability to work with other people, knowledge and skills, sensitivity to
the local culture, and gender-sensitivity. If one can have these traits, they can become an effective
community organizer that can help the community’s empowerment, and improved the quality of life of
the community which is the goals of community organizing.

In all, to be an effective community organizer, it must be someone that have the capabilities to lead
the community to its improvement. In line with this, I find myself not someone that can become a
community organizer for I have not all have the traits and capabilities to become an effective community
organizer.
