CASE STORY TITLE: One’s Commitment (part-1)

PRE-NSTP (EXPECTATION, NOTION AND IDEA)

Give your thoughts on the 17 United Nation Sustainable Development Goals and cite a particular UNSDG
and community concern that it can address where you think Mapua-NSTP students, as a whole, can mainly
contribute in it.
Student’s Answer:

The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) represent a global blueprint for
achieving a sustainable and equitable future for all. These goals are interconnected and aim to address a
range of social, economic, and environmental challenges that we face as a society.

One UNSDG that Mapua-NSTP students can contribute to is UNSDG #4: Quality Education, which seeks to
ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. In the
Philippines, access to quality education remains a significant challenge, particularly in disadvantaged
communities. Lack of resources and infrastructure, low teacher-to-student ratios, and inadequate training
and development for educators are just some of the issues that contribute to this problem.

As a whole, Mapua-NSTP students can contribute to addressing this concern through their participation in
educational outreach programs and initiatives. By leveraging their skills and knowledge, they can help to
provide educational support and resources to underprivileged communities, including tutoring,
mentorship, and curriculum development. Additionally, Mapua-NSTP students can collaborate with local
organizations, schools, and community leaders to identify specific areas of need and develop targeted
interventions to address them. Through these efforts, they can contribute to the realization of UNSDG #4
and make a positive impact in the lives of those who lack access to quality education.
