REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
What are your expectations to the CWTS Course?
Student’s Answer:

The Civic Welfare Training Service is one of the major components of the National Service Training
Program along with Reserve Officers’ Training Corps or widely known as ROTC. However, unlike the ROTC
which is developed to motivate, train, organize, and mobilize tertiary level students for national defense
preparation through military training, the CWTS focuses on activities devoted to improving health,
education, the environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation, and morale of the citizenry, as well as
other social welfare services, that contribute to the general welfare and the betterment of life for
members of the community or the enhancement of its facilities. And for this reason, by the end of the
course, I am hoping to develop my civic consciousness.

Being able to experience the CWTS101 in the previous term has enabled me as a student to be more
engaged in our community since we are tasked to create programs that would help the local community,
specifically Pandacan, Manila. Through the process of creating a program that suits the community
perfectly, a thorough research about the community is encouraged to assess the needs of the local
community. And because of CWTS101 I was able to be more conscious about our society.

In CWTS102 I am expecting myself to be more engaged in creating or participating programs that involves
developing or helping a community to improve form their current situation. Moreover, in line with
organizing programs for the local community I would also take the opportunity to learn from my
classmates and try to incorporate their ideas with mine. And lastly, I am hoping the I would learn a lot
form this course and be able to apply it in the future especially in the field of my chosen profession.
