ACTIVITY TITLE: Essay #3
REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS
How does your values affect your actions and behavior towards others?
Student’s Answer:

Values are a set of principles, ideals, and beliefs that shape an individual's life. Values can help you decide
what is important to you in your life through how you choose to live your life. Values are important
because they guide your behavior and help you create a sense of identity for yourself. It is important to
us because they help us make sense of the world around us and guide our behavior in it. They define who
you are and how you live your life.

I am a person who believes that honesty is the best policy. This means that when I interact with others, I
try to be as honest as possible. In order to do this, I need to take into account my own personal values and
beliefs about honesty. When I encounter someone who has committed an act of dishonesty or deception,
it can be hard for me to not immediately point out what they did wrong. This can make them feel like they
have been caught doing something wrong and that their actions were obvious to everyone around them—
when in reality there may have been other factors involved that made the situation seem worse than it
actually was. This also affects how I interact with other people's behavior towards me: if they behave
dishonestly towards me—for instance by lying or withholding information from me—I will feel betrayed
by them because they have violated an important value that we share together as human beings: honesty.

Upon making this essay, I realized that values are important to our behavior and actions toward others.
Without values guiding us, we would be unable to make sense of our actions and how they affect others.
It is also important that we understand how our own values affect the way we see ourselves and others.
The way we act towards others is strongly influenced by our values. If we believe that acting in a certain
way is the right thing to do, then it will be. If we believe the opposite, then we will act in a way that
reflects these beliefs.
