What is your role or contribution in the fight against substance misuse and abuse?
Student’s Answer:

Substance Abuse isn't something you should take lightly. It occurs when you use alcohol,
prescription medicine, and other legal and illegal substances too much or in the wrong way.
Substance abuse differs from addiction. Many people with substance abuse problems are able to
quit or can change their unhealthy behavior. Addiction, on the other hand, is a disease. It means
you can’t stop using even when your condition causes you harm. Substance Abuse: Know the

been the main concern. It is multifactorial, and there is a need to study these different factors.
Furthermore, there is an immediate need to do an epidemiologic study of the extent of drug abuse,

College drug abuse often leads to addiction. Addiction can not only cause significant
difficulties for the addicted person; it also has widespread negative consequences for society as a

Student from this age where all the Substance Abuse comes from. My role is to help my fellow
College students to be more aware of the consequences of using the substances like Alcohol or
illegal Drugs like Marijuana, Shabu and other kinds of Illegal Drugs.

Being a college student is hard but as a citizen and the future of my country, I will help with
all my capabilities to stop Substance Abuse. Now that we are at a global pandemic, it will be
surely an opportunity for the Illegal Drugs to be used since most of us is suffering, people will
cling unto pleasure of the illegal drugs to escape reality and disregard all their problems. If we
won’t be back to normal after President Duterte’s term, the Illegal Drugs may increase more. As a
student I will check up my friends and family because there are signs that they could be already
under the phase where they are abusing substances or drugs.
