COURSE / SECTION: NSTP100-B11
ACTIVITY TITLE: Essay #1
REALIZATION, INSIGHT AND LEARNINGS

What are your expectations to the NSTP Course?

Student’s Answer:

The National Service Training Program (NSTP), which is established for tertiary level
students, underlines the government's commitment to defend its residents as well as citizens'
responsibility to maintain the state's security—in connection to this, there are three (3) program
components. The aforementioned serves as an option for students who want to focus on a specific
field: civic welfare, literacy training, or reserve officers training.
As a part of the tertiary level students, I must undergo training following the program
component I chose. Generally, the program is devised to enhance the youth's active participation in
the general welfare. Thus, I have certain expectations with the course as we tackled various topics
under the program. To begin with, based on the program's aim by the end of the term, I assume to
be more involved in public and civic affairs. Furthermore, being involved in public and civic
affairs leads to the awareness of the issue concerning society. Therefore, will encourage and train
us to be civic/military leaders and volunteers in case of events that require the nation's services.
Taking everything into consideration, through the NSTP course, I expect to enhance my
civic consciousness and defense preparedness. Additionally, I presume to be aware of various
value systems, such as in leadership and decision-making. Lastly, is to be able to play my role as a
nation-building youth.
