What is the significance of the NSTP Law in student training?
Student’s Answer:

The importance of the NSTP Law in student training is to enhance the youths’ civic consciousness and
defense preparedness. It develops the youth’s ethics of service and patriotism. It was implemented to
promote the role of the youth in building and improving the nation. The law was implemented to
encourage and train the youth to become civic and military leaders and volunteers that the country can
count on their services when needed.

When it was implemented, it came with three components that the youth can choose from. The three
components are Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Literacy Training Service (LTS), and Civic Welfare
Training Service (CWTS). The Reserve Officers Training Corps or ROTC component was designed to provide
military training to tertiary level students to motivate, train, organize and mobilize them for national
defense preparedness. The Literacy Training Service or LTS component is designed to train students to
become teachers of literacy and numeracy skills to school children, out of school youth, and other
segments of society in need of their need. Lastly, the Civic Welfare Training Service or CWTS component is
a program contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life of the members of community
or the enhancement of its facilities.

In conclusion, the significance of the NSTP Law is to develop the youth that will be the ones to build the
future of the nation. The NSTP Law is divided into three components. It consists of ROTC, CWTS, and LTS.
The ROTC component is a program for training the youth for defense preparedness. The LTS component is
a program to train students to become teachers that teaches the future generations. Lastly, the CWTS
component is a program to train the youth that may lead to the betterment of life of the community and
their general welfare.
