What is the role of ROTC in strengthening the national security?
Student’s Answer:

At its origin, the purpose of ROTC was to maintain the community's long-standing idea of the citizen
soldier answering the call of his nation when war broke out. Armies require qualified leaders; it is not
prudent to wait until the battle is at your door to begin fielding them.

The ROTC provides tuition advantages to qualifying student-cadets through a merit-based incentive
scheme in exchange for an obligation of military service in the reserve force, or active duty in the AFP if
given the option, following graduation. ROTC programs provide students several possibilities and perks.
ROTC participants receive significant instruction as well as financial assistance for their schooling. They are
encouraged to develop strong personal characteristics such as self-discipline, confidence, and leadership.
Giving individuals awareness about national security and teaching them in the essentials would
undoubtedly strengthen national security.

To conclude, The ROTC specifically attempts to: train college students for possible duty in the defense
establishment during an emergency. train officers and enlisted people for the Armed Forces of the
Philippines' reserve components and like I said earlier, By giving people the knowledge about national
security and training them the basics, this will surely strengthen national security.
