Pulse Polio is an immunisation campaign established by the government of India to

eliminate poliomyelitis (polio) in India by vaccinating all children under the age of five

years against the polio virus. The project fights polio through a large-scale, pulse

vaccination programme and monitoring for poliomyelitis cases.

It was organised by the GP Hq Delhi – ‘C’. Cadets from Maitreyi NCC also volunteered

for the vaccination of the children. The cadets were divided into three groups for

three different places i.e., War Memorial, Nehru place and the Bangla Saheb

Gurudwara. Cadets did their volunteering accordingly.

Objectives-

• To achieve the Polio free world by achieving the 100% coverage under Oral polio

vaccine

• To immunise children through improved social mobilization, plan mop -up

operations in areas where polio virus has almost disappeared

• To maintain a high level of morale among the public.
