B. CONCEPT NOTES:
Farm supplies -these are the essential materials needed in crop production. The number or amount
needed is

very important to minimize unnecessary expenses. Seeds a mature ovule consisting of an embryonic
plant together with a stored food, all surrounded by a

protective coat. It is used to propagate plants easily.

Fertilizers a substance that supplies nutrients to the soll that are essential for the growth of a
plant.Pesticides -a

substance used to kill pests.

Pesticides a substance used to kill pests.

Labor Inputs

These are the energy needed so that the production grows. Labor inputs also use tools and
equipment to make

the labor easy and to secure the production activity. 1. Labor requirement for land preparation such
as:

Mechanical plowing or plowing using a Carabao

Mechanical harrowing or harrowing using a Carabao

2. Inputs in labor requirement in planting such as:

Broadcasting the seeds

Transplanting the seedling

3. Inputs in labor requirement for plant care such as:

Applying fertilizers Applying pesticides

⚫ Weeding

Irrigating the farm

Harvesting crops

Threshing

Drying

Storing the harvested crops

In estimating those farm inputs, we need to know the situation of the farm such as the land area, the
necessary farm inputs in order to estimate the needed money and to allot the budget correctly to
run the production of the farm.

Example: Abner has 2 hectares of farm. In estimating the needed inputs of Abner, lilst down all farm
inputs such as the needed farm supply and labor requirements in the whole farm production. In
terms of farm supply. make sure it will be multiplied to 2 hectares. Note: 100 kl/ha seeds needed if
transplanting or direct seeding using drum seeder.200 kl/ha seeds If the seeds will be broadcasted.
After listing down all the needed farm Inputs, you may now put the necessary amount to each
inputs. Compute the amount and you have now an estimate of a fem inputs.
