 What do people mean when they say we live in the post-truth?
A post-truth situation is one in which people are less influenced by factual information than by their emotions
or by beliefs they already hold.

news?

you could spot fake news or would you be fooled? Why or why not?

Bias: the action of supporting or opposing a particular person or thing in an unfair way,
because of allowing personal opinions to influence your judgment:

If you're biased toward something, then you lean favorably toward it; you tend to think
positively of it. Meanwhile, if you're biased against something, then you lean negatively against
it; you tend to think poorly of it.

 There is a clear bias against foreign applicants

 There was a clear racial bias in the selection of candidates.

 The teacher seems to have a bias towards the girls in her class.
  President Trump believes the media possesses a terrible bias against him which leads
them to discriminate against him with unfavorable news in the media.

I don’t believe everything journalists write; some of them can be economical with the
truth or lie through their teeth.
To be economical with the truth = not tell the whole truth
You can also say (meaning the same)
 This story is stretching the truth
 To lie through one’s teeth = to clearly lie without trying to hide it
I tend to check everything from some alternative sources
Some information is misleading, so we have to be careful
If it’s convincing enough but I would like to discover some reliable evidence first.
It seems good journalism is vanishing these days.
I think we have been pushed into this society where the breaking news or the latest
gossip is the most important and the most valuable,
I think the most valuable information is not necessarily the latest or the most updated,
and it just pushes us to follow fashions and trends all the time.
I think you can pick out pieces of news or items of news that are relevant and useful for
you,
