to the Kings. Civilians couldn’t contradict them, so they
never had the opportunity to rise in the social pyramid.

Living conditions of the common people were extremely
poor: hunger, marginalization, disease, slave labor and
no prospect of social advancement or improvement.

Feudal regime’s
inequalities
98% of people in France were 3rd State. They were poor
and didn’t had rights. This situation was unfair and
peasants got tired of it.

Enlightenment’s ideas
Enlightenment ideas, and the faith in reason from
philosophers and writers greatly influenced the mentality
of the time. People wanted a change to a society less
influenced by religion and social born position.

Nowadays
 French Revolution was one of the most important historic events. It was
the first Revolution of it’s type, and it triggered lots more all over Europe.

It’s importance can’t be denied, and French people now that.

The proud never fade away. They see their past and are
proud of it, and it affects their perception of nationalism
nowadays, following the motto created in that moment:
liberté, ègalité, fraternité.
 An example of this is their behaviour
during the Covid-19 pandemie. Even
when French government tried to put
restrictions and set laws to try to

Covid-19 decrease the rate of infections, they

didn’t want to listen, saying they are
