A 10-year-old Perth boy has described having his bike stolen by a teenager and then how he
cried when he saw a man who had been stabbed lying on the ground.

Key points:
 The teenager admits stabbing Petr Levkovskiy but denies murder
 A boy says the teenager had earlier ridden off after stealing his bike
 A friend of the boy's says the teenager sounded "angry" and "mean"
The boy was being interviewed by police a day after 42-year-old Petr Levkovskiy was fatally
stabbed in the stomach by the teenager, who is now on trial in the WA Supreme Court accused of
murder.

The incident happened around 10.30am on a Sunday in May last year.

While the teenager, who was 15 at the time of the stabbing, admits responsibility for Mr
Levkovskiy's death, he denies he intended to kill him or cause him any serious harm.

The boy's recorded interview with police was played to the jury on Thursday. He described sitting
on a log with a friend watching TikTok videos on a phone, when the teenager, masked and dressed
in all black, came up to them.

"He just came up and told me to give him my bike," he said.

"I didn't know how to respond, I think he said 'give me your bike'."

The boy said the teenager then rode off with the bike, so he chased after him screaming "no
please".

'I was just in shock'

The boy lost sight of the teenager, so he said he went back inside his friend's house before
deciding to look for his three friends, who had gone to chase the thief on their bikes.

He said he then ran outside the house and went around a corner.

"The first thing I saw was a guy lying on the ground," he said.

"I saw my bike across the street … I was just in shock … I was crying."

The court has been told Mr Levkovskiy was stabbed in the abdomen with a filleting knife the
teenager had armed himself with.

Prosecutors allege the stabbing was intended and deliberate, but the teenager's lawyer has told
the court his client had only meant to stab Mr Levkovskiy in the leg.

Boy's friend says teen was 'angry'

In another recorded interview played to the trial, the 10-year-old boy's friend described them
sitting together when "this random guy in a black hoodie came up and grabbed my friend's bike".

He said the teenager sounded "angry" and "mean", describing him as an "eshay" and carrying "a
small bag with a strap on it".

The boy also told police about Mr Levkovksiy and his wife helping him and his friends chase after
the teenager.

He said he did not know the couple, but recognised them as neighbours.

"I've seen them before and they're a nice couple, at their house like doing gardening," he said.

Later in evidence to the court that was recorded last year, the 11-year-old boy said Mr Levkovskiy
had come out to the front of his house because he had heard his friend crying after his bike was
stolen.

"It was loud enough to get Petr outside, and all the neighbours," the boy testified.

He was asked about his description of the teenager as an "eshay", telling the court "they wear all
black".

The boy said the teenager also had a loud voice and was shouting when he said to his friend "just
give me your bike".
