Using a comma is incorrect because commans can’t join two complete thoughts.
That’s the job of other punctuation marks! (?) (!) (:) (;) (.)
A semicolon would also be incorrect because semicolons are used to connect two
complete thoughts when the second thought adds a new or different idea.
