Component No Description
1 CMOS Battery. CMOS batteries are small and are
attached directly to the motherboard.
2 Connectors for peripherals. It is used to connect
peripheral devices such as a keyboard, mouse and
printer to complete a computer system unit
3 SATA Connector. A command and transport protocol that
defines how data is transferred between a computer's
motherboard and mass storage devices, such as hard disk
drives (HDDs), optical drives and solid-state drives (SSDs).
4 ATX Power Connector. It is design to connect a
computer's power supply to an ATX motherboard
5 Front Panel Connector. a block of connectors on a
motherboard that control the power on, power reset, beep
code speaker and the LED light indicators on your PC
case/chassis
6 CPU Socket. A CPU socket uses a series of pins to
connect a CPU's processor to the PC's motherboard
7 Peripheral Component Interconnect slot. a built-in slot on
a device that allows for the attachment of various hardware
components such as network cards, modems, sound cards,
disk controllers and other peripherals.
8 RAM slots. RAM slots are vertical slots, typically
numbering three or four, which usually are located at the
upper-right corner of the motherboard.

B. CMOS/BIOS Settings.

It is important to have a record on your CMOS/BIOS setting, in the event the settings are
lost.

1. Boot your PC and look for directions on the screen that tell you how to access CMOS
setup on your PC, such as press F2 or etc. Press the specified key to access CMOS
setup.

2. When the CMOS main screen displays, write down the settings shown. Then, follow
the instructions on screen to select and navigate to the next screen.

3. Continue navigating through screens and writing down settings until you have a
complete record of the CMOS setting.
