Discuss why a Christian needs to seek first the kingdom of God, to orient their
thinking, hopes, dreams and aspirations on the things that are above, thus putting
God first in their life.
Being a Christian is one of the toughest yet satisfying things being practiced
in the world. There are many things need to be followed and need to be done in
order to seek the kingdom of God. It is important to seek His kingdom first in order
to execute the His will to all Christians.
Seeking His kingdom is one of the things that the Christians aiming for
because it is being believed that when you seek the kingdom of God, you will have
an eternal and happy life and you will not experience any challenges when you
already seek the kingdom of God.
The foundation of Biblical Stewardship is that God owns all the things and
we just manage His stuff. Moreover, for Jesus Christ, Jesus discussed stewardship
frequently. Christ reminded His followers that our hearts follow our treasure as He
taught deeper lessons about discipleship through parables about handling money.
It's another to make the decision to use the things He owns in His manner, mostly
because His rules don't often make sense to our brains. Humans have struggled
with the conflict between following God's plan and implementing our own ideas
since the Garden of Eden till the present day. Jesus really never struggled with that
tension. He embraced the Father’s purpose and never wavered from making it
happen. He came to “seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10 NIV). Anything outside
that mission was a step outside God’s way of doing things.
Another thing is the God’s glory. Jesus' primary mission was to lead people
to God. His life and ministry were actually intertwined with God's glory (John
13:31–32). Jesus sought opportunities to exalt His Father, whether it was via the
loss of a friend (John 11:4) or by instructing His disciples in prayer (John 14:13). As
a result, during His earthly ministry, Jesus served as a model of biblical
stewardship.
