I. OBJECTIVE:
• To clearly define the cleaning and usage procedure.
II. SCOPE
• This procedure applies to all of the balances in the quality control laboratory.
III. PROCEDURE

3.1 USAGE
1. Close all of the side doors properly and check the weighing balance level.
2. If the balance is not leveled, turn the leveling screws clockwise or anticlockwise to position the air
bubble exactly in the center.
3. To turn the instrument on, press the on/off button on the front panel.
4. To begin using the printer, turn on the main power supply. Connect one end of the connecting port
to the printer and the other to the weight balance's input supply.
5. Wait for the instrument to calibrate after pressing the calibration switch on the front panel. Finish
the internal calibration on the front panel, press Tare. Ascertain that the reading "0.0000" appears
on the display. Complete the calibration activity according to the SOP for daily calibration and
monthly verification of the analytical weight balance.
6. Proceed for weighing operation
7. Open one of side door and put the SS bowl on the Pan.
8. Close the side doors completely and press the tare button. Make sure the reading is
"0.0000."appears on the screen.
9. Open the side door once more and transfer the power from the filled vial to the SS. bowl.
10. The net weight of the powder filled is displayed on the display. On the front panel of the balance,
press print.
11. Repeat the above steps for the net weight of the other filled units.
12. Weight checking is to be done hourly by the production in-charge and twice an hour by the IPQA in-
charge for all 24 heads of the filling machine.
13. Fill in the blanks in the Batch Manufacturing record and attach the printouts in addition.

3.2 CLEANING
1. After the day's activities are completed, the analytical balance should be cleaned.
2. Using a dry mop, clean the entire balance surface.
3. Using a lint-free mop soaked in 70% IPA, clean the entire balance.
4. Using a screw driver, remove the weighing pan and clean the pan and the surface beneath it with 70%
IPA.
5. Using a screw driver, adjust the pan's balance.
