FT Sigunit L22 - Din 2002
FT Sigunit L22 - Din 2002
Sigunit L22 does not contain any chlorides or nitrates and will not corrode steel. Sigunit set
accelerators have been used successfully throughout the world since 1933.
ADVANTAGES
By incorporating a set accelerator to the gunite or shotcrete, faster execution of the application
can be achieved, allowing a quicker access to the work area without the risk of collapse.
Further advantages are:
Reduction in rebound
Less dust in the atmosphere
Ability to stop leaking water
Reduction in cement content
Increased early strength
Suitable for use with all Portland cements.
CLEAN UP
Clean all tools, equipment and hands with water immediately after use.
HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
Exercise care as with handling any chemical construction product.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Use adequate ventilation. Use of safety goggles and chemical resistant gloves are recommended.
Remove contaminated clothing immediately.
FIRST AID
Skin Contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
Eye Contact: Flush immediately with water for 10 - 15 minutes and contact a physician
immediately.
Respiratory Problems: Remove affected person to fresh air immediately and contact a
physician.
Hygiene: Wash hands immediately after use. Wash clothing before re-use.
SPILLS
Collect with absorbent material. Uncured material may be removed with clean water.
PACKAGING
25 litre and 200litre drums.
DOSAGE
The dosage of Sigunit L22 is generally between 3 and 7% by weight of cement. The required
effect is usually achieved with 3 – 4%. Where a very much faster set is necessary, dosages of
5% or more can be employed.
Initial set for shotcrete should normally be between 45 and 90 seconds and final set between 2
and 4 minutes. Under difficult conditions, these rates may be altered for initial set between 30
and 60 seconds with a final set between 1 and 2 minutes.
Note: As a result of the speed of set, test samples cannot be compacted other than through
gunite or shotcrete equipment. Compaction by hand is not suitable as initial set will be
destroyed.
Instructions for Use
DISPENSING
Sigunit L22 must be added with the water at the nozzle. Injection of the Sigunit L22 into the
water line is normally arranged through a specially adapted dispenser of which there are two
basically different systems. One of which keeps the Sigunit L22 dosage constant irrespective of
the added water. The other where the solution of Sigunit L22 is constant in the water stream.
