How to prepare chocolate?

 Most of the cocoa beans arrive from west Africa.


 A cleaning system is used to remove stones and other debris
 The cocoa beans are heated to loosen their shells
 A shell removing machine is used to remove the shells.
 The inside of the cocoa beans, called nib, is roasted to develop the flavor.
 Half of the nib is cocoa butter, which is used along with process nibs, sugar and
milk powder to make milk chocolate
 The cocoa nibs are ground to produce liquid chocolate.
 The ingredients are blended to the consistency of cake batter.
 A refining machine is used to convert the chocolate into a fine dry powder.
 The chocolate is heated again and then it is deposited onto a conveyor belt.
 Finally the chocolate is cooled and sold in the shape of bars or chips
