2- COVID19 Restart – Quick Status

• After, in average, 6 weeks of business stoppage due COVID-19 (between March and April) all YEL plants restarted the activity.
• Specific measures for shut down and restart were defined and implemented by all Plants.
• Despite the incertitude of the situation and under specific circumstances of work conditions, the restart could be done, until
today, without any customer stoppage and without major quality deterioration (with some specific exceptions).
• Today, comparing with March 2020, we have over 80% of our people back to work.
• Today, there is still a big incertitude in the evolution of the Pandemic and in consequence of the economy.
• In crucial that we continue monitoring our employees assuring the defined rules by EHS (individual
protection, disinfection, social distance…).

FINAL COMMENTS AND NEXT STEPS
• “QMS” and “Supplier Quality” sectors are managed by Central Function QMS (Kristina Simkute) and Supplier
Development (José Pimenta).
• Plant Quality Managers are still accountable for “QMS” and “Supplier Quality” activities in their plants (following
RASIC definitions).
• In Multi Plant Countries, the “QMS” and “Supplier Quality” sectors should be identified in the Org. Chart:
o Country Level Leaders (common to all plants) should be identified by same name / location in all Plants
o Specialists / LQC / Technicians are specific/dedicated for each plant
• “Customer Interface” and “Quality Control” sectors will be managed by the Plant Quality Manager.
• As it was before: Plant Quality Manager will continue to report to Central Function Quality (Amilcar Seco for EDS;
Bruno Debonnet for ECI)

NEXT STEPS:

• Prepare new Quality Organization Chart

• Review and provide your feedback for RASIC

Provide feed back to: Amilcar Seco; Fatima Eljourani; José Pimenta; Kristina Simkute; Bruno Debonnet

VP QUALITY: CLOSING COMMENTS

• The role we represent in this organization is one of the most challenging.

• Every day we must respond to countless situations that have not been
planned, reaction to problems with clients and interns.
• On the other hand and as a collective action from the top, we have to
overcome ourselves and do better with less, in order to survive in the Mid /
Pos Covid era.
• It may just be my perception, based on my daily work with my peers, but
the Quality function is more recognized today than in the past. Has stronger
power. What I would like to understand is if our Plants QM feel the same or
not. Soon you can tell your really situation to Amilcar, on the quarterly
assessment. CF Quality need to be your facilitator to remove the roadblocks
you might face daily.

VP QUALITY: CLOSING COMMENTS

• We say that we want to implement a quality mind set across the

organization. This is only be possible if each one of us behavior as a mentor,
as a leader, walk to talk, be a Role Model, to the peers and people within
our organizational function.
• We end T79 with zero critical quality defects, yet we started T80 with a
couple of issues that are, or potential will be considered Critical.
• What we need to be focused:
1. Plan our quality for the new launches and transfers
2. Promote the compliance of change point control
3. Promote the culture to raise the hand and pull the andom when anyone faces an
abnormal situation.

VP QUALITY: CLOSING COMMENTS

• Standards provide an organizational basis for repeatable behavior and therefore

repeatable process execution
• Standards capture our collective knowledge as a company, including learned
solutions to achieve QCD
• Standards tend to look backward in time (past) and do not always consider how to
anticipate future conditions – that is why FMEA is so important to evaluate the
risk.

• No doubt that standards need to be followed. Associates need to understand why.

• In problem solving exercises, the first think we must see is that compliance.
• If standard was considered not ok, then we must change it, (with the owner of the
standard).

VP QUALITY: CLOSING COMMENTS

• Please take those sentences as your personal manual guide, which leads
your work every time.
• Don’t allow compromises in Quality. If a deviation is needed, ask the
preparation of it to the requester and consult your direct CF Quality
interface.
• We are a strong team and you are not alone.

• We have challenges, yes, but each one will give to you the more experience,
then more wisdom for the future.
• I am counting with you all.
Thank you
