In this assignment, we can explain non-verbal communication with the help of a video
whose link is also given above.

Non-Verbal communication:
Nonverbal communication refers to the exchange of information without the use of spoken or
written language. It includes all forms of communication that do not involve words, such as
facial expressions, body language, gestures, tone of voice, and eye contact. Nonverbal
communication can convey a wide range of emotions, attitudes, and intentions, and they can
often provide more accurate and reliable information than verbal communication alone.
Examples of nonverbal communication include smiling, nodding, crossing arms, rolling eyes,
and touching someone's hand.
There are a few types of non-verbal communication whose names are given below:
1- Facial expressions
2- Gestures
3- Proximity
4- Touch
5- Eye contact
6- Appearance

1- Facial Expressions:
One of the most common forms of nonverbal communication is facial expressions. Using the
eyebrows, mouth, eyes and facial muscles to convey emotion or information can be very
effective. Example: Someone might raise their eyebrows and open their eyes widely if they feel
surprised.
In the above image, the face of Tom and Jerry are showing a non-verbal facial expression. In this
image, Tom and Jerry looked surprised by something which they saw.

2- Gestures:
A gesture is a form of non-verbal communication in which visible bodily actions
communicate messages, either in place of speech or together and in parallel with spoken words.
Gestures include movement of the hands, face, or other parts of the body.
This image is representing a Gesture of Tom. In this image, the body of Tom is showing that he
has tired.
It further shows Tom has insulted by his owner. It indicates that the Tom is not wanting to do
any work, but he is forced to do something.

3- Proximity
Proximity is communicated, for instance, using space, distance, touching, and body position.
The use of space, the physical distance between people, and the options for touch are closely
related and culture specific.
This image is indicating a proximity of Tom and Jerry.
Tom and Jerry are looking very excited here. They are dancing with joy. There exists a moderate
distance between Tom and Jerry which shows that they are enjoying very much.

4- Touch:
Touch is our primary non-verbal communication channel for conveying intimate
emotions and as such essential for our physical and emotional wellbeing. In our digital age,
human social interaction is often mediated.
In this image, we found an expression of non-verbal communication known as Touch. Here
touch expression shows that Jerry is helping the mosquito to remove water from his body.
Jerry is looking anxious in this image which means that he is worried about the life of
mosquito.

5- Appearance:
Personal Appearance is the types of nonverbal
communication we use to adorn our bodies and surroundings to communicate meaning to
others. Consider your preferences for hairstyle, clothing, jewellery, and automobiles, as well
the way you
maintain your body.
In this image, we see a non-verbal expression known as Body Language . Here Jerry is looking
serious and ordering to mosquito. He is signaling to mosquito to do something. All these things
can be seen by his body language.
