by putting fire on top of the only opening to the decomposition reaction it is supposed to turn it into a blue flame and increase the
size of the flame and it will also last for a while before the oxygen is depleted.

If:

the student uses the solution form of the catalyst

Text Object

Then:

Response Textbox
the reaction will decomposs faster than with the solid catalyst

Text Object

Because:

Response Textbox
when the solution is added it increases the overall surface area compared to the solid catalyst. this will mean that the catalyst will
be more abundant in the reaction and will arrange the hydrogen peroxide for a faster reaction in a faster way due to it beinf overly
exposed.

the hypothesis is not valid as since the function of the catalyst is to make the decomposition happen faster the oxygen will be
rapidly produced over a short period of time hence the hypothesis is wrong.

1. there may be a leakage in the experiment.

Response Textbox
The leakage in the experiment means that the oxygen that was to be collected is lost into the atmospher thus explaining the
variation.

investigation to determine the rate of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide with each

the independent variable.
 different types of catalysts provided.
dependent variable
volume of oxygen captured after 30 seconds.
control variable
concentration of the hydrogen peroxide

additional equipment
-stop watch
-stands
-waterbasin
-beaker

method
1.place a beaker on a holder with the catalyst mounted top side up to avoid mixing with the hydrogen peroxide.
2.place the eudometer in the water basin and mount it on a stand.
3.connect a tube with a stopper on the beaker and into the eudometer through the basin.
4.shake the beaker softly so that the catalyst may kick start the reaction,
5.measure the amount of xygen collected in the eudometer after thirty seconds.
6.repeat the experiment 3 times each for all the types of catalysts.

details of the data you will collect
I will collect the amount of oxygen collected in the eudometer after 30 seconds for each of the catalyst and calculate the rate of
reaction which will determine which is the fastes and this will be brought out by the one with the highest production after the 30
seconds.
safety of the method
since we are working with hydrogen peroxide which decomposes into oxygen, all fire sources should be put away as far as possible
to ensure thhe protection from a major risk of fire,
one should also put on glasses as the hydrogen peroxide irritates the eyes when it has gotten to contact with them.

well, there are five samples of hair arranged horizontally at the o minute, they compare as the time increases with exposure to the
H2O2 . This resulr show that as the time of exposure moves so does the removment of the natural pigment continue to increase,
this can be seen from the results where the black gradually turns brown from the begnning.

advantages and disadvantages of papyrus

The papyrus is important in many aspects and one is its ability to last for several thousands of years, this is a very important asset
as this ability allows it to keep text for a very long time and this could be applicable in suggesting that during the egyptian times the
bible was written on this type of paper which has allowe the religion's sacred teachings to remain for a very long time, however
others may argue that the papyrus changes colour to darker which means the incontrast in the text and the page will not be there
hence will not be visible for a person and scientist have to use special skills to deduce what the text means. papyrus grows in
aquatic areas,  which, first of all helps in the exchange of gases for the fish underwater and if  they are removed the fish are
affected with lack of oxygen and hence they die living the hyrosphere of the reqion affected.

advantages and disadvantages of acid-free paper

The acid free paper is made from wood which comes from trees, but unlike the papyrus made paper this one has a special alkali
which reacts with co2 in the air to stop the paper from turning yellow, this means that the text will be visible for a long period of
time, but the effects of this paper are life threatening where it affects the atmosphere itself by reducing the amount of oxygen and
increasing the amount of carbon dioxide which causes gobal warming, all this is brought out by the need for paper by cutting down
the trees which are the main source of oxygen filtered fro the carbon dioxide which the trees use, the cutting down of trees for this
paper also affects the animals in the ecosystem making them lose their habitat and ultimately their lives.

conclusion with justification of the best paper type for long-term preservation.

both papers are good and great for use but the papyrus is better as, one, it is highly resistance to mould unlinke the other papeer
which is affected by mould which is not ideal for the long term preservation of text, it also is brittle meaning it will not get torn
unlike the ones from wood which are flexible and can be torn easily and are weakened by heat and light this therefore means that
the paprus paper is best for long term preservation.
Question 8

Response Textbox
comparison of the impacts on the environment.
In the tree to paper process it starts off by cutting trees, and this will lead to the destruction of forest biomes and ecosystem
meaning the animals will die due to their habitat  being taken away this also means that the carbon dioxide levels in the
atmospehre will also increase as their is no exchange of gases made by the tees which is dangerous to our health, unlike the
paper to paper which does not involve the destruction of forests nor the animals in the forest but the recycling of old and used
paper.
The tree to paper also is not sustainable as it is nnot a circular rather a linear way of production and this will always end in
the source being depleted in this case , the trees, but the paper to paper type uses a circular economy meaning it is sustainable
as the papers produced are used and dumped they are reproduced again with a process that does not need butning of fossil fuels
to get the pulp cooked unnlike the tree to paper process.

comparison of the impacts on the economy
The tree to paper is rather too expensive compared to the paper to paper method, this is because the linear tree to paper has extra
and expensive equipment such as the heater and the chemical treatments made, this will bring a loss or not a big profit compared
to the paer to paper which uses fewer equipment for the same type of paper but some may argue that after the paper to paer
process has been produced more than once then the quality for the paper will reduce thus making the population go for the tree to
paper.

conclusion, with justification, on which paper production process is best.
The paper to paper is surely better provided they find a way to collect and amplify the quality of the paper produced may be if it is
by cotting it with something , but generally the paper to paper stood out as the better sustainable option.

Question 9

Response Textbox

The saving of documents for paper meant that one would have to protect the book from any external forces such as water and fire,
the storing by paper, meant that people can know where the books are and easily navigate to them but it could only store a
maximum number of words , but the technology changed that by making sure that it can be stored in th cloud meaning even if one
lost their device the information will still be safe in the cloud and it has a large space for a lot of information than the books, but
the device requires a level of exposure to operate meaning the old people will have a hard time operating the device.
